Robert Johnson

Robert Carroll Johnson, Jr., age 86, of Kerrville, TX, passed away September 2, 2014. Robert was born on October 23, 1927 in Ada, Oklahoma to the late Robert C. Johnson, Sr., and Velma Roy Johnson. He was a member of the Elm Grove Baptist Church, the First Baptist Church of Pleasanton, Tx, and a Navy veteran of World War II and the Korean Conflict. He is preceded in death by his wife Minnie Johnson on August 4, 2014; son, Carl William Johnson; brother, Ronnie Johnson; sisters, Wanda Holmes and Susie Johnson; and step-mother, Pearl Johnson. Pallbearers will be Robert and Lisa Johnson, Mike Wilson, Bryan Wilson, and Julie and Lance Gasch. Robert is survived by daughter, Velma and husband Mike Wilson of Kerrville, TX; son, Robert W. and wife Lisa Johnson of Emerald Isle, NC; brother, Hal Johnson of Oklahoma; three sisters, Margie Baldwin, Linda Harrison, and Myrtle Ann Somerville all of Oklahoma; five grandchildren: Julie, Bryan, Whitney, Ashly and Jena; and six great grandchildren: Emery, Aubrey, Olivia, Brayden, Braddock, and Addison. Visitation will be held Thursday, September 4, 2014 at 5:00 pm at the Smith Funeral Home-Flatonia. Services will be held at 10:30 am Friday, September 5, 2014 at the Elm Grove Baptist Church with Rev. Hoyt Hunnicutt officiating. Burial will follow in the Elm Grove Cemetery.
