Robert Syler

Robert Henry Syler age 85 of Flatonia passed away January 16, 2015 in Flatonia. He was born on September 23, 1929 in Muldoon to the late Clem Syler and Berth Ivy Syler. Robert was a retired Accountant, member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church, American Legion and a Air Force Veteran of the Korean Conflict. He is preceded in death by 4 brothers and 2 sisters. Survivors: his wife Laverne Brunner Syler, daughter and son-in-law-Cheryl and Jack Barnes of Muldoon, 1 sister-Gussie Stein of San Antonio, 2 grand-children-Christy Smullen and husband Peter, Ashley Schmidt and husband Bobby, 4 great-grand-children-Avery, Pete, and Hailey Smullen and Peyton Schmidt. Visitation will start at 4:00pm Sunday, January 18, 2015 at Smith Funeral Home-Flatonia. Services will be held Monday, January 19, 2015 at 11:30 am Sacred Heart Catholic Church-Flatonia with Father Eddie Winkler officiating. Entombment will follow at the Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery.
