Roberta Ruth Kilpatrick, went home to be with Jesus on February 9, 2021 at the age of 95 yrs old. She was surrounded by her loved ones at her daughter's home in Caldwell County. She was born on December 9, 1925 in San Antonio, TX to Robert Andrew Shannahan and Estelle Grantham Shannahan. She married Kenneth Lindell Kilpatrick from Lexington, TX on May 2, 1953, together they had four daughters. They lived in Houston, TX until 1984 when they moved to their lovely retirement home in Waelder, TX where she loved gardening, sewing, cooking for her family and entertaining their friends. Roberta is survived by her four daughters, Cecilia Singleton (Jim), Melissa Dearinger (Jeff), Theresa Raney, and Andrea Ainsworth (Russell); ten grandchildren - Cassandra Pettepher (Eric), Matthew Singleton (Suzi), Allison Gonzales (Jeffrey), Chris Dearinger (Rachel), Erin Hoard, Kenny Matano (Olivia), Travis Osburn (Cortney), Tyler Osburn (Avery), Joseph Ainsworth, Amanda Ainsworth; 13 Great-Grandchildren - Tyrann Gonzales, Cynthia Gonzales, Xavier Gonzales, Nicolas Gonzales, Gavin Singleton, Lucas Singleton, Teagan Osburn, Emma Osburn, Kaiden Nistal, Benjamin Dearinger, Emory Dearinger, Ethan Pettepher, Jacob Pettepher, and Bailey Pettepher; a special Sister-in-Law - O'Reta McMillan; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was proceeded in death by her parents; sister, Dorothy Dolch; nephew, Robert Dolch; Great-Aunt, Ruth Daniel; grandson, Andrew Matano; son-in-law, Ronnie Raney; and Travis & Tyler's father, Randall Osburn. Roberta was considered a role model and hero by her family. Over the last several years, she has endured and survived breast cancer, several heart surgeries, two hip surgeries, wrist surgery and even Covid-19 in July 2020. Within the last few years, she was diagnosed with Dementia and she and her husband, Kenneth, were moved to Heights Nursing Home and Rehab which was extremely hard on her family. She continued fighting until the very end. Once her children were older, Roberta worked at Spring Woods High School as the counselor's secretary until retiring to Waelder. In Waelder, she worked or volunteered as Waelder ISD librarian; past School Board member of Waelder ISD; Past President of Saturn Friendship Club; member of Santa's Helpers of Gonzales County; member of the Republican Party; member of the Catholic Daughters; a CCD teacher and volunteered in the local Catholic church community. The family deeply, deeply appreciates all the staff and caregivers at the Heights Nursing Home and Heart to Heart Hospice for their love, care and prayers for Roberta, Kenneth and family. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the Alzheimer's Association in the name of Roberta Kilpatrick. Pallbearers are Matthew Singleton, Kenny Matano, Tyrann Gonzales, Travis Osburn, Tyler Osburn, and Joseph Ainsworth. Honorary pallbearers: Jeffrey Gonzales, Mickey Singleton A visitation for Roberta will be held Friday, February 12, 2021 from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at Smith Funeral Home in Flatonia, Texas. A rosary will be recited on Saturday, February 13, 2021 at 9:30 AM at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Flatonia, Texas with a funeral mass following at 10:00 AM, officiated by Father Eddie Winkler. A burial will occur Saturday, February 13, 2021 at Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery in Flatonia, Texas.
