Ruben Velasquez, age 67, of Flatonia, Texas passed away on Saturday April 18, 2020. Ruben was born January 7, 1953 in Flatonia, Texas to Mamie Cantu Velasquez and Guadalupe Velasquez Sr. Ruben is survived by; brothers Guadalupe Velasquez Jr. (Stella) of Flatonia, Texas, Alejandro Velasquez (Mary) of San Antonio, Texas, Gabriel Velasquez (Maria) of Spring, Texas, Alfred Velasquez (Carolyn) of Flatonia, Texas, George Velasquez (Rosia) of Flatonia, Texas, Gilbert Velasquez (Arlene) of Flatonia, Texas, Tony Velasquez (Martha) of Luling, Texas; sister Yolanda Motal (Paul) of Austin, Texas and 22 nieces and nephews. Ruben was preceded in death by; father Guadalupe Velasquez Sr. and mother Mamie Cantu Velasquez. A private visitation for Ruben will be held Wednesday, April 22, 2020 at 9:00 AM at Smith Funeral Home, Flatonia, Texas. Following the visitation will be a private graveside service at 1:00 PM at Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery, Flatonia, TX. A memorial mass and rosary will be announced at a later date.
