Sharon Kay Benton

Sharon Brewer Benton was born 04-22-1949 in Houston, TX.

She was a happy child with an older brother, Raymond and younger sister, Fayline.

She was married to James Collins in 1967. They were married for 18 years and had 3 children.

She married Matt Benton in 1987.

Sharon wore many hats during her life. She was a daughter, mother, wife and seamstress. In Aug 1992 she became a nurse. She was always a caretaker and found her calling in nursing. She worked in nursing homes, hospitals and finally the Flatonia Clinic for 15 years before she retired.

She was happiest when outdoors tending her garden, plants or trimming trees. She loved spending time with her family.

She showed us how to be tough when she fought breast cancer and won.

She is proceeded in death by her parents, Tommie and Gladys Brewer, her older brother, Raymond Brewer, Sr. and her husband, Matt Benton.

She has 3 children Kimberly Brown (Greg), Kerrie Ritchey (Chane) and Tommy Collins (Denise) and 3 step children, Chris Benton (Chrystal), Jacob Benton and Hannah Benton. She has 15 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.

After a 7 week fight, She died peacefully May, 4^th 2024 surrounded by family.

A celebration of life will be held 06-15-2024 at 1 pm at the American Legion Hall in Flatonia, TX.
