Terry Kainer

November 16, 1957 — July 1, 2012

Terry Shawn Kainer, 54, of Flatonia, Texas passed away on July 1st, 2012, at St. David's Medical Center in Austin, Texas surrounded by her loving family after a courageous battle against cancer. Terry was born on November 16, 1957, in Weimar, Texas to Billy Joe Simons and the late Margie Noey Simons. She was a hair stylist and business owner of The Hair Affair. She is survived by her husband of 39 years, Ricky; two daughters, Tiffany Kainer of Flatonia; and Scarlett Peccon and husband, Michael of Cedar Park; grandchild, Weston Osborne; sisters Jan Mares and husband Steve, Chrissy Meyerson and husband Sandy, Charlotte Simons and Deondra Moore and many nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts and uncles. She is preceded in death by her mother, and sister, Tracy Simons. Terry was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend. She loved to spend time with her family, trips to the coast, shopping for antique dishes, tending to her many "dear to her heart" pets, admiring the sunrise, the city lights when she ventured into various cities, and stopping with Ricky to get a cola Icee on their many road trips. It was the simple things in life that made her the happiest. She will be remembered for her kind and generous heart, her beauty, quick wit, and her feisty spirit. She truly was the rock of our family - strong and independent; you could always count on her to be there. The family would like to extend our deepest gratitude for all the support during Terry's illness. Dr. Carlos Rubin de Celis, Dr. Timothy Dzuik and all of the staff at Texas Oncology provided exemplary and loving care and we will be forever grateful. Terry truly loved her doctors and all of the staff. They were genuinely compassionate and comforting to her and went above and beyond to make her feel a sense of peace - right up to the very end. Additionally the family would like to thank countless family, friends, co-workers and many that we did not personally know for their prayers, well wishes and caring support. There are not ample words to express our heartfelt gratitude. This gratitude is an extension of how Terry felt too. On numerous occasions, she expressed how she felt extremely blessed and grateful for the multitude of prayers, God's grace, and the many answered prayers. A gathering of family and friends will take place on Wednesday, July 4th, 2012, at Smith Funeral Home in Flatonia. A private family visitation from 9:00 a.m. - 10:00 a.m. and public visitation from 10:00 a.m. - 9:00 p.m. The Rosary will be at 7:15 p.m. Funeral Service will be held at 10:00 a. m., Thursday, July 5th, 2012, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Flatonia, Texas.
