Vincent J. Starustka entered into his eternal rest on Tuesday, April 23, 2019, at Memorial Hermann Greater Heights Hospital in Houston, at the age of 79. Vincent was born in the Hallettsville area in Lavaca County on December 23, 1939 to Cecilia Capak Starustka and Julius Charles Starustka. He graduated from Moulton High School and entered the army with training as a paratrooper at Fort Bragg, North Carolina. On August 7, 1960 he married Ida Nell Darilek. Upon completion of Vincent's military service, he moved to Houston, Texas. Employments included Admiral Linen, Snap-On Tools, and 35+ years at Central Freight. He enjoyed going to his property in Waelder, riding his tractor, and barbecuing with friends. Vincent is survived by his wife, Ida and son, Brian of Houston, sister, Beatrice Jones and husband Leroy, of San Antonio, brother-in-law, Evan Darilek and wife Linda, sister-in-law, Rosalyn Kocian and husband Alvin, and sister-in-law, Karen Billimek, with several nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents. Vincent was a loyal member of American Legion Post #392 in Moulton. Rosary was recited at 9:30am Friday, April 26 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Moulton. Funeral Mass was held at 10:00 am with Father Gabriel Maison officiating. Pallbearers were: Evan Darilek, Albert Krejci, Stephen and Richard Jones, Johnny Smith, and Jeff Davis. Burial followed in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery.
