Obituary for Willmer J. Srkala Willmer Johanne Srkala, 87, of Moulton passed away Thursday, November 19, 20015 after a brief stay at Shady Oaks Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Moulton. She fought a brave battle with complications due to pancreatic cancer. Willmer was born on February 28, 1928 at Shaw's Bend near Columbus, Texas. Her parents were Charlie and Minnie Mehrens Ahlgrim. She was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith. Willmer lived part of her life in Rosenberg and moved to Kingman, Arizona in 1964, later moving to Moulton. In Arizona, Willmer was employed by the school district and she worked at Kemlon in Engle after moving to Moulton. After she retired, she devoted much of her time and talents as a member of Zion Lutheran Church in Moulton. She was very involved in quilting and donated several quilts to the Ladies Bazaar at Zion Lutheran. Willmer was a talented artist. Her paintings adorned the walls of her home. She loved growing house plants. She also looked forward to playing dominos with her friends. She also volunteered with bingo at Shady Oaks. Preceding her in death are her parents, her daughter Roberta (Robbie) Shaeffer, and her son Darrell Srkala and her husband Robert Srkala. She also is preceded in death by her brothers - Raymond, Lawrence, Reuben, Robert, Milton and a sister Ruby. Willmer is survived by her son-in-law Denny Shaeffer of Kingman, Arizona, Grandsons, Steven Shaeffer of Phoenix, Arizona, and Jason Shaeffer and wife Amanda of Pueblo West, Colorado. Also surviving is a sister-in-law-(Evelyn Ahlgrim of Houston, nieces and nephews -Barbara (Douglas) Martinek of Columbus, Sandra (James) Zettel of Brenham, Richard, Judy and Daniel Ahlgrim of Houston, David (Sheila) Ahlgrim and Lyn Marie (Glenn) Comeaux of Lake Charles,Louisiana. Services were held Tuesday, November 24 at Zion Lutheran Church in Moulton with Pastor Beyer officiating. Burial followed the Moulton Cemetery. Smith Funeral Home-404 West Bobcat Drive-Moulton, Texas 77975 In Lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to Zion Lutheran Church in Moulton, or the charity of your choice.
