Janie Herrera Garza, age 74, of Westpoint, Texas passed away on Monday, February 21, 2022. Janie was born March 15, 1947 in O'Donnell, Texas to Marcelina Flores Herrera and Francisco Herrera. Janie is survived by her husband, Tomas Garza of Westpoint, Texas; her daughter Frances Vasquez (Raul) of Flatonia, Texas; her daughter Geneva Jean Moncada (Miguel) of Bastrop, Texas; her daughter Lilia Ann Hundley (Johnathon) of Taylor, Texas; her daughter Melissa Jean Velasquez (Laurentino) of Westpoint, Texas; her daughter Lucinda Ann Garza (Gabriel) of Cedar Creek, Texas; her daughter Tammy Renee Corral (Oscar) of LaGrange, Texas; her son Basilio Jesse Perales of Flatonia, Texas; her son Tomas Garza, Jr. (Marina) of Lubbock, Texas; her son Timmy Ray Garza of Westpoint, Texas; and her son Tobby Ross Garza of Westpoint, Texas; her sister Lidia Casares (Tony) of Winters, Texas, her brother Domingo Herrera (Jesusa) of Taylor, Texas, her sister Antonia Garcia (Hipolito) of Taylor, Texas, her brother Marcelo Herrera (Josie) of Winters, Texas, her brother Manuel Herrera (Delphina) of Shiloh, Texas, her sister Florinda Rosales (Jose) of Taylor, Texas, her sister Mary Balderas (Gregorio) of Bryan, Texas, her brother Vincent Herrera (Linda) of Winters, Texas, her brother Jose Guadalupe Herrera (Marylou) of Taylor, Texas, her sister Gloria Pierce (Frank) of Elgin, Texas and her brother Jose Jesus Herrera (Gloria) of Shiloh, Texas; her 31 grandchildren, her 22 great grandchildren and her 6 great great grandchildren. Janie was preceded in death by her father Francisco Herrera and her mother Marcelina Flores Herrera; her sister Frances Herrera and her sister Hermelinda Cruz. A visitation for Janie will be held Tuesday, March 1, 2022 from 8:00 AM to 8:00 PM at Smith Funeral Home Chapel, 128 East 5th Street, Flatonia, Texas 78941. Funeral service will occur Wednesday, March 2, 2022 at 11:00 AM at Muldoon Hall Venue, 282 N. FM 154, Muldoon, Texas 78949 with Pastor Joaquin Damas officiating. Her final resting place will be at Pittman Cemetery, 1229 W. FM 2237, Muldoon, Texas 78949.
